Music Lessons
WHY LEARN MUSIC?
Learning a musical instrument is about so much more than playing notes. It’s an opportunity to develop creativity, confidence, discipline and a lifelong connection with music.
For children, learning music encourages patience, focus and persistence as they overcome challenges and develop new skills. It also provides a creative outlet where students can express themselves, explore their interests and experience the satisfaction of making progress.
For adults, learning music can be an opportunity to reconnect with creativity, take on a new challenge or finally learn an instrument they’ve always wanted to play. It’s never too late to begin, and you don’t need any previous musical experience to get started.
Whether you’re 5 or 55, music can become something that grows with you — whether you want to perform, write songs, play with others, or simply enjoy making music for yourself.
LESSONS
Instrumental & Vocal Lessons
Personalised one-to-one lessons are available in guitar, bass guitar, piano, singing, ukulele, banjo and pedal steel guitar. Lessons are available for children and adults, from complete beginners through to advanced musicians, and are tailored to your musical interests, experience and goals.
LESSONS
MUSIC THEORY
Music theory is like any language — easier to learn when it’s spoken, heard, and felt. I teach theory with hands-on tools and real-world application, not just textbooks and terminology.
Lessons can explore chords, scales, harmony, rhythm, ear training and musical structure, with concepts connected directly to the music you play, write and create.
And here’s a secret: you don’t need theory to start making music. The joy can come first — the theory will follow.
Songwriting & Creative
SONGWRITING & CREATIVE
Songwriting is more than just lyrics and chords — it’s a powerful form of self-expression, storytelling and creativity. Whether you’re jotting down thoughts in a journal or dreaming up melodies in your head, songwriting helps turn those ideas into something meaningful, memorable and yours.
Songwriting lessons can explore lyrics, melody, chords, harmony, song structure and arrangement, while helping you develop your own creative process. Whether you’re starting your first song or developing existing material, we can work together to turn your ideas into finished music.
Creative
PRODUCTION & ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Music production brings creativity, technology and musical instinct together. Whether you’re recording songs, crafting beats, layering synths, working with samples or exploring electronic music, production gives you the tools to turn musical ideas into finished tracks.
Lessons can cover recording, arranging, editing, mixing, sound layering and practical production techniques, with guidance tailored to the music you want to create. Whether you’re developing your first beat, polishing a demo or building a complete arrangement, we can work from initial idea through to a finished production.
DJ lessons can also explore equipment, track selection, beat matching, transitions, set preparation and performance skills, helping you develop the confidence and practical skills to build and perform your own sets.
